At its annual meeting held Dec. 14 at the Fayetteville Town Center, the Northwest District of the Arkansas Water Works and Water Environment Association (AWW&WEA) elected the following officers for 2012: Tim Luther of CH2M Hill, Chair; James Clark of Springdale Water Utilities, Vice Chair; and Stacy Cheevers of Beaver Water District, Secretary/Treasurer.

Additionally, the following were presented with awards: Gene Priebe of Rambo Water received the award for Water Operator less than 5000 population. Randy Watson of Rogers Water Utilities received the award for Water Operator more than 5000 population. Tom McAlister of Rogers Water Utilities took the Manager of the Year Water Award. The City of Lincoln took the Small System Award for Water. Tim Copeland of Holiday Island received Wastewater Operator less than 5000 population award.  Pat Sharp of Rogers Water Utilities received the award for Wastewater Operator more than 5000 population. Mike Roberts of the City of Bentonville Wastewater Treatment Plant took the award for Manager of the Year Wastewater. Holiday Island received the Small System Award for Wastewater. Roman Rios of the City of Bentonville Wastewater Treatment Plant received the award for Laboratory Professional Wastewater. Nancy Busen of the City of Bentonville Wastewater Treatment Plant received an Recognition Award for years of service to the Northwest District AWW&WEA. Visit the awards section for more information.
